Every week, we'll be talking about things from prices to scrap metal stories. And we'll have metal guides and updates on the markets. We want to hear from you. So if you have questions that you want us to discuss, things you want to learn about Scrap You Later is here to teach you more about scrap. Hey scrappers, it's Tom from the iScrap App and in this episode of Scrap You Later, we're going to talk about the brand new iScrap 2.0, which will be released in the summer of 2021. Now, first and foremost, if you're interested in learning about this new app, and the new website that we have coming out, in the description of this podcast, there's a really easy to use link, click it, sign up for it. And you'll be alerted when some of the features are coming out when the app is going to be available. And some of the new things that we'll be adding on after the 2.0 version is released. As we have multiple stages coming out in 2021 and 2022, we want you to be one of the first ones to know about it. Now, if you're looking to learn more about 2.0, let's go over some of the things that we have been developing. And of course, all of these are from your critiques, your problems, your observations and things that you have wanted us to really put into the iScrap App over the last few years. So let's start with our first bullet point, which is our new price list design. Now many of you know that by going to iscrapapp.com or right through the iScrap App itself on your your iPhone or your Android, not only is it free, but it gives you a list of national price averages. So we have a brand new price design on those different prices, you're going to be able to click into them, you're going to see historical charts, you're going to see a much more clear description of the metal itself, videos and pictures. So you can learn more about the different scrap that you're working with on the go. Other things that you're going to find much easier ways to report the prices that you've recently sold your scrap for. And why is this important? Well, not only is it going to give you the information moving forward for yourself, so you know how much money you were paid. But it's also going to help contribute to the overall national average. With many people that talk to each other through our Scrap Metal Recycling Talk Facebook group, comment through our YouTube and our Instagram and other social feeds, you'll know the power of many is always better than the power of one. And by having many people reporting prices, it's going to give people the knowledge to know where the markets are, where the markets are headed. Other things that we're going to have in 2.0, you're going to even be able to take pictures of your scrap receipts. By taking pictures of your scrap receipts, you'll be able to have those prices automatically uploaded, it's going to make it really convenient and easy for you to report these prices. And we're going to hopefully do most of the work for you just through scanning software that's already on your phones and our phones. Another awesome feature that we're pumped about, we're calling it the best price lookup. What does that mean? You're going to be able to go on to the scrap app, put in a metal that you're looking to sell, and say show me who's paying the most for this metal. And those prices that come up could be from a scrapyard that are promoting their own prices could be from other scrappers have reported prices in your area. And of course, we're going to give you the ability to expand and contract how many miles you're looking to drive. As we've talked about another podcast, sometimes it's worth driving a little further to make more money with your scrap. Now with all of these features coming out, we always are going to be looking for different ideas. So if you have other ideas for the app that you want us to put into the future, let us know but with other features, talking about better scrap information, giving you ideas on when to buy, sell or hold your different scrap but giving you all these different things along with all the push notifications for market alerts, new videos and how-to guides as well as letting you know when we're doing our weekly report and more.
